Femmergy—A Celebration of Female Creativity

Femmergy—A Celebration of Female Creativity

Skip those $30 Eggs Benedict for Mother’s Day brunch or—if that’s your thing—swing by the farm afterwards for a celebration of women and their creative strength and nurturing wisdom. We will be mixing up Bloody Mary’s and raising money in support of the critical work of Planned Parenthood, and we will be joined by several inspiring women that help to make our community the vibrant and supportive one that it is.

Northern Dutchess Botanical Gardens, our amazing neighbors just up the road on Salisbury will be popping up with a plant sale. Marcella has been busy growing beautiful babies for you to take home to your gardens.

Our very talented neighbor Diane Moroff will be joining us, with a selection of her beautiful collages, as well as puzzles and cards of her artwork.

Judy from Longview Linens has been sewing up a storm. Her business tagline is “Life is Better with Linen” and we couldn’t agree more! Her tea towels and napkins make the perfect gifts (for moms and other people!)

The genius behind the Branchwater Gin Goat Milk Soap we sell in our store, Jade of Cats’ View Farm will be here with daughter Adele selling an array of delicious soaps and lotions.

Our beloved friend and local crafter Jacqui Rose will be leading a “Handwork for the Warmer Months” workshop from 11am-noon for the first ten people to sign up. Jacqui will supply all the necessary materials. Please consider a donation to Planned Parenthood in exchange.

And what celebration would be complete without Catarina of Little Rye Bakehouse’s addictive creations? Expect some quiche action, probably some savory croissants too. We told you to skip the overpriced brunch!

Navy Strength Gin Release Party

Navy Strength Gin Release Party

Please join us for our latest spirit release - Branchwater Navy Strength Gin! For those of you new to the term, it originated in the 18th century when the British Royal Navy required its spirits to be of a certain strength to ensure they would still ignite gunpowder in case of a spill. Turns out that’s around 57%. We find our Navy Strength Gin adds a little more heft and makes for a great cooler weather version of a Negroni, Martini or Bijou.

As with all of our release parties, we will be joined by other makers in a collaborative event that highlights the abundance of this valley! Brian Spaeth will pour an exciting lineup of spirits from Tenmile Distillery, Mimi Beaven (of former Made in Ghent fame) will be here with her irresistible jams and baked goods, pasta geniuses Via Ravioli will be selling their amazing stuffed pastas and sauces, and Maria Clarke will have some of her ceramic treasures available for purchase as well. Please come out and support local artisans and have a lot of fun while doing so!

Cherry Brandy Release Party

Cherry Brandy Release Party

Please join us as we celebrate the latest release in our expanding family of fruit eaux de vie! We were so thrilled to finally get our hands on some English Morello Cherries from our friends at Fix Brothers Farm in Hudson. English Morellos are a late-ripening, sour cherry originating in France. They are prized for their tart flavor, which makes them ideal for use in cooking and baking, and are perfect for liquers and brandies. We fermented 5,000 pounds of cherries last summer and the distillation yielded a mere 95 liters of alcohol which translates into 518 half bottles, and close to 10 pounds of cherries in each one. Come taste the essence of this tantalizing fruit and grab one of these rare bottles before they’re all scooped up.

As with all of our release parties, we will be joined by other farmers and makers in a collaborative event that highlights the abundance of this valley! Friends from Fix Farm, Rose Hill Ferments, The Little Rye Bakehouse, Potters Table Bakery, Klocke Estate, and LG Studio Pottery will be participating in this summer fest, sharing the fruits of their labor with you.
